DownloadI am examining how international humanitarian organizations and state actors construct and negotiate gendered humanitarian responses in conflict zones such as Sudan, Yemen, and Gaza. The project will explore how gender policy is framed, implemented, and politicized across different levels of international engagement, with a focus on how legal and ethical frameworks shape these interventions. Theoretically, it will draw on feminist legal theory, legal pluralism, and decolonial theory. Methodologies may include comparative policy analysis, document review, and interviews with humanitarian workers and policymakers. This research builds on my professional experience with crisis response initiatives in the Middle East and aligns with broader debates on gender, law, and international power structures. Conceptual work is underway, and I am exploring potential funding sources for the development of the project.
